Rachel Anita Herbert, 48, of Yukon, Oklahoma, formerly of Hinton, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born on December 27, 1976, in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Phillip A. and Carolyn E. (Campbell) Herbert.  Rachel graduated from Hinton High School in 1995 and attended Redlands Community College before earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. While in college, she worked for the Ford dealership in Weatherford and later at England Ford in Hinton. She dedicated 24 years of service to the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision before spending the past year and a half as an Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Distribution for Hobby Lobby.  Rachel was an avid reader who loved to travel. She had a heart for mission work, participating in nine mission trips to Nicaragua alongside her brother, Chad, and four mission trips to Brush, Colorado. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Scott Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member. Over the years, she served as church clerk, operated the sound system, helped with Vacation Bible School, and was a Falls Creek sponsor for many summers.  A dedicated Girl Scout, Rachel earned both the Silver and Gold Awards, with the Gold Award project she completed with her twin sister, Renae, setting the standard for future recipients. She was also a 4-H Hall of Fame winner.

Rachel is survived by her beloved daughter, Cora Lynn; her parents, Phil and Carolyn Herbert of Hinton; her twin sister, Renae Shockley of Hinton; her brother, Chad Herbert and wife Devin of Hinton; nieces and nephews, Summer Davis and husband Roy Charles of Fall River, Kansas, Trace Reece, Hayes Vice, and Jewel Vice all of Hinton; and her lifelong friend, Dana Womack and husband Jerry of Velma Alma, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ross and Elsie Campbell and Clyde and Anita Herbert.

Viewing will be from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, with the family receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Scott Baptist Church in Hinton, Oklahoma, with Reverend Tom Cooksey and Reverend Mike Price officiating. Burial will follow at Niles Cemetery in Hinton, services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, OK.
