Sonya Dee (Cravens) Niemi was born on July3, 1960 in Beaver, OK to Leo W. Cravens and Carroll M. (Tucker) Isbell. Sonya passed away on February 16, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 64. She grew up in Oklahoma City where she began school at age 6 at DD Kirkland Elementary, went on to Putnam City Junior High, and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1978. Sonya married Stephen James Niemi on July of 1993. Stephen had two daughters from a previous marriage and those became Sonya’s daughters as well. Sonya worked at Sunwest Motors as an administrative assistant for many years. She loved going to estate sales finding treasure, loved to garden, and she absolutely loved Christmas. She usually began preparing for the holiday in August with her Christmas Village and left it up until January. Sonya especially loved her cats, Kai and Pyper, enjoying their company and caring for them. Sonya will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Survivors Include: her mother, Carroll Tucker Isbell of OKC, OK, her father, Leo W. Cravens and wife LuAnn of Oklahoma City, OK, her daughters, Angela Jacka and husband Richard of White Bear Lake, MN, and Kari Rawn and husband Pat of Georgetown, TX, her grandchildren, Charlie and Noah Jacka, and Samantha “Sam” and Emily “Jamie” Rawn, her uncle, Clarence Cravens and wife Linda of Fairview, OK, and her aunt, Treva Bedwell of Corpus Christi, TX, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Sonya was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Niemi, her step-father, Lester Isbell, her uncles, Virgil and Ray Raphael Cravens, her grandparents, Eugene and Elva Tucker, and Kenneth and Ruby Cravens.
