Carson B. “Wendy” Stewart was born November 5, 1939, in Springer, OK to Richard James and Amie Odell (Royal) Stewart. He graduated from Hinton High School. Carson married Carolyn Hendricks on October 4, 1958, at a preacher’s home in Anadarko, OK. They moved to Oklahoma City after they married where he worked for Borden’s Milk Company. They moved to Binger in 1968. They owned and operated a gas station starting in 1978 and built Stewart’s Grocery in 1983 operating it until 1999. Carson Worked at the Great Plains Correctional Facility in Hinton, the Town of Binger and as an EMT, for the Binger Volunteer Fire Department, for the Apache Tribe in Anadarko, and for the Binger-Oney Public Schools, Carson loved going to his kids and grandkids ball games and loved watching OU Football. He was a member of Binger Baptist Church.
Survivors Include: his children, Renea Gathers and fiancé Mike Miles of Park City, KS, Ricky Stewart and wife Kathy of Binger, OK, and Rhenda Gills and husband Joe of Binger, OK, his grandchildren, Ron Gathers of Wichita, KS, Justin Gathers and wife Traci of Valley Center, KS, Eric Gathers of Wichita, KS, Blake Fisher of Eureka, KS, Kayla Stewart Whitehorn and husband Paul of Binger, OK, Rylon Stewart and wife Hayley of Tuttle, OK, Kadree Stewart of Binger, OK, Maddy Joana of Germany, Baillie Gills and fiancé Allen Owens of Binger, OK, and Shaillie Gills of Binger, OK, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and one brother, Lonnie Stewart and wife Brenda of Plainview, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Carson was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Amie Stewart, wife Carolyn, and son-in-law, Ed Gathers, Carolyn’s parents, Ralph and Ethel Hendricks, and siblings, infant brother Derrell, Junior, Bebo, Doyal, Kenneth, Charles Stewart, Joyce Houchin, Judy Stewart, and Dovie King, and a dear relative, Kelley Stufflebeam.
