Roy Dean Chisum was born in Hydro OK on March 2, 1936 to Leonard and Floy (Seal) Chisum. He passed at the age of 89 in Yukon, OK on March 26,2025. He attended Ghost Mound School and later graduated from Hydro High School in 1953. After graduation he joined the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1957.
In 1958, he married Kathy Garrison at the First Baptist Church in Hinton. He began a career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1959. Starting as a Correctional Officer in Seagoville, Texas. Later transferring to the Federal Correctional Institution in El Reno. He attended El Reno Junior College and SWOSU graduating in 1970 with a degree in Sociology and business. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1986 as a Unit Manager after 27 years of service. During the last two years of his career, he traveled all over the United States training and assisting other Bureau facilities with the implementation of the Sentry software system. He enjoyed and looked forward to delivering Meals on Wheels each week with Kat.
Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hinton, OK.
He is survived by Kat his wife of 66 years. His son Marty and wife Nikki of Yukon. Three grandchildren, Bryce, Baylee and Brecken Chisum of Yukon. A brother Melvin Chisum of Hydro, as well as many other relatives and friends..
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Milton.

At his request a graveside service for immediate and extended family only will be held at one o’clock, Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Hinton Cemetery, Hinton, Oklahoma.
