Jose Carmelo Perez Rios was born August 20, 1933 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Guadalupe Perez and Juana Rios. Carmelo passed away on March 26, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 91. Carmelo grew up in Mexico and he married Maria Canedo in 1959. The couple came to Oklahoma around 1976. Carmelo liked to work and was a grain operator for Penwright then when they sold Shawnee Mills until retirement. He enjoyed maintaining and taking care of his goats, liked to garden, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Carmelo was a very religious man and a devout believer. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
Survivors Include: his children, David Perez and wife Eve of Tuttle, OK, Octavio Perez and wife Carmen of Geary, OK, Fernando Perez and wife Hemalda of South Sioux City, NE, and Martin Perez and wife Marsila of OKC, OK, 17 grandchildren, 17 great children, his brothers, Jose Perez, Pablo Perez, and Francisco Perez all of Mexico, and his daughter in law, Deborah Perez of Geary, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Carmelo was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Juana Perez, his wife, Maria Perez, his sons, Alberto Perez and Jose Angel Perez, and his daughter, Rosa Maria Perez, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Services: Geary First Baptist Church, Monday, 12:00 PM, March 31, 2025, Geary, OK
Officiating: Pastor Juaquin Montoya
Burial: Sunset Cemetery, Geary, OK
Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary, OK.

A Carmelo le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Guadalupe y Juana Pérez, su esposa, María Pérez, sus hijos, Alberto Pérez y José Ángel Pérez, y su hija, Rosa María Pérez, 3 hermanos y 2 hermanas.
