Twenty-month program offers seminars and international experience for agricultural professionals
STILLWATER, Okla. — The Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Program (OALP) is now accepting applications for Class XXII, offering a comprehensive 20-month development experience for professionals in agriculture.
Program Overview
OALP selects up to 30 individuals from production agriculture, agribusiness, and related sectors to participate in:
- Ten three-day seminars across Oklahoma
- A three-day seminar in northern Oklahoma and Kansas
- A seven-day seminar in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
- A two-week international experience
Experiential Learning Focus
Since its inception over 40 years ago, OALP emphasizes hands-on learning. Participants engage with progressive agricultural producers and businesses, covering topics such as leadership, communication, finance, government policies, and water issues.
“Experiential learning is a key part of our program,” said Edmond Bonjour, OALP director since 2010. “Participants enjoy increasing their knowledge about agriculture in the state, nationally and internationally, and incorporate what they learn into their operations or businesses.”
Application Details
Applicants must be at least 25 years old and demonstrate potential as future agricultural leaders in Oklahoma. The application and supporting materials are due by May 1, with interviews scheduled for June. The first seminar series begins in August, and Class XXII will graduate in April 2027.
