Ronald W. House, born March 17, 1936, during a snowstorm at a farmhouse in Beckham County, Oklahoma, to Marcus “Babe” and Zelma May (Roselle) House. He passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Binger Nursing Home in Binger, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Ronnie graduated from Lookeba High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in South Korea during peacetime. On May 5, 1960, he married the love of his life, Katherine “Kathy” Taylor, in Lookeba, Oklahoma. They shared many wonderful years together until her passing on March 19, 2011. Ronnie and Kathy made their home in the Lookeba area, where they raised their family.
Throughout his life, Ronnie worked as a farmer before transitioning to truck driving, hauling rock, peanuts, and cottonseed. He had a love for the outdoors, especially mushroom hunting and gardening, and he enjoyed daily walks. He also had a deep affection for his cat. Ronnie will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Ronnie is survived by his children, Craig House and wife Sarah, and Rhonda Crain and husband Mike, all of Lookeba, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren: Josh House and wife Tammy, and Zach House and wife Sarah, all of Clinton, Oklahoma; Cassidy Coleman and husband Alex of Yukon; Weston Crain of Colony; Ryan Lacy of Oklahoma City; Kyle Blackstone and wife Amanda of Cordell; April Archer and husband Justin of Seiling; and Melissa Attberry of Seiling; as well as many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sherry McLellan, and her husband Keith of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Zelma House; his beloved wife, Kathy House; his daughter, Terrye Lynn Lacy; and his brothers, Wayne and Eddie House.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Lookeba Cemetery, with Reverend Mike Davis officiating, services entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, Oklahoma.
